Snapdragon 800 and Now Flexible OLED Phones Confirmed for Q4

This Q4 is going to show a bigger jump in technology then previous years. That is why I haven't jumped on the S4/One bandwagon yet (no disrespect to those who have).

Flexible OLED, really isn't that great of a concept until they have flexible motherboard/cpus/etc.

Yeah, except that's not true. First off the whole phone doesn't have to be bendy, you can have two hard sides that fold only at the screen.

There are many uses for Flexible OLED, bendy/roll out phones are just a couple.

I have seen and touched Flexible OLED first hand. You are right the main current benefit is shatter proof, but the some of the concepts out there like your first picture is a little farther away. There is a difference between a prototype with 6-7 digits funds invested into it and a full production phone that manufacturers want to only invest a couple hundred to make.

Your second picture is much more realistic of an upcoming design. The real benefit will come in the more of TVs and Computer monitors with curve displays for a better field of view.
