When it is officially announced, I would love to see it compared with the note 3, as I would want to suggest one to my friend, who isn't very tech smart and doesn't know much. He has an iPhone 4 right now, and I keep telling him that it needs to be replaced soon.

So, note 3 or HTC one max? He doesn't want Samsung Galaxy mega sized, but not too small like the iPhone and even 4.5 inch devices.

Or, if you got other suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.

Note 3 = 5.7 inch screen and about the size of the Note 2 (thinner but a tad taller).
One Max = 6.0 inch screen with boomsound speakers that will make it even larger. It will probably be around the size of the bigger Mega.

I have the Note 3 and love it. I throw on Nova though because I'm not a huge fan of some of the TW gimmicks. Some are pretty great though. I do enjoy waving my hand over the screen to check the time, missed emails/calls and battery percentage (among many other things I enjoy about the phone).

As someone looking at the Note 3, One Max, and Nexus 5 as being my potential next phone, I am okay with the One Max's larger footprint solely because of the Boomsound speakers. Whenever I'm playing XBOX or just typing on my laptop (as I am now), I'm listening to Google Play through my phone. Those speakers would be amazing.

All things being equal I'm leaning One Max. The screen is the most important thing to me and I'd rather have a larger RGB LCD than a pentile AMOLED. I know the Max will likely be down on RAM (2GB), internal memory (16GB), and will likely have a worse camera, but none of those things matter to me as much as the quality of the screen. My Note II only has 16GB of memory and I've been fine with my 32GB SD card. I expect it to be the same situation with the Max.
