Anyone who thinks Motorola isn't a Chinese company is seriously mistaken.

This isn't good. Huawei has been subject of multiple security concerns. There was a story on 60 minutes and other stories in print media. I would be very reluctant to purchase anything made by them.

And yes, I'm aware that most (all?) of our electronics come from China. And I'm sure that other Chinese mfgs may not be 100% ethical. But Huawei made the news multiple times regarding security leaks with the Chinese government. I firmly believe that where there is smoke, there is fire. If there is some truth to this rumor, I hope Google reconsiders another manufacturer with a better reputation.
