Can anyone help me pair a Sony Smartwatch 2 with a Samsung Ace 2 GT-I8160?!

I've got the LiveWare app and can pair via Bluetooth but running the app doesn't seem to do anything and following the instructions in the manual doesn't trigger the graphic on the watch that asks for the Smartwatch app to be downloaded. Downloading it anyway doesn't seem to trigger anything either. I'm new to Android and I'm now very confused!
