This is always something I have struggled with, understanding bands.

I just bought an unlocked Alpha, will it work okay on Metro PCS?

LTE, MMS, Ect.

It lacks certain bands that T-Mobile uses for LTE and 3G/4G. So, it depends where you located in US, you may or may not get LTE or even 3G/4G signal. No Alpha models support all the bands required for T-Mobile.

As Foxbat121 says no Alpha has ALL the Bands for Tmobile/Metro PCS.
The closest is Apha 850M which has for LTE :
AWS/700/850/1800/1900/
2100/2600
3G H H+ includes 1700 and 1900 so 1900 for refarmed areas and 1700 ( not listed in specs but shows up in Service Menu) when 1900 weak or not available).
What Alpha 850M lacks is the
future LTE Band 12 on 700 mhz).
It has 700 LTE but NOT the specific Band 12 there- 700 mhz has many Bands .

However except for Band 12 LTE Alpha 850M has EVERY Band for Tmobile.

Alpha is not fully optimised for Tmobile/ Metro has very good call quality and texting even with low signal but Data speeds are inconsistent IMO especially with low signal- unlocked phones are NOT optimized for each Carrier and do not usually perform as well...The Dirty Little Secret about unlocked Devices .

Also the Canadian Alphas 850W have all the Bands for Tmobile/Metro PCS except the new Band 12.
So 850M and 850 W have ALL the Bands except the new Band 12 which will be used more and more in 2015 and 2016- most Tmobile Phones do not yet have Band 12.
