Soft keys unresponsive due to gorilla glass?

I've only had my core prime a couple of weeks and had immediately put a gorilla glass protector on it as I had previously smashed my s3 screen three times but I started to notice that the sift keys were becoming less responsive until eventually they stopped working completely. Having been fully prepared to march into carphone warehouse and demand they fix it I decided to remove the screen protector to double check and what do you know the soft keys are working wonderfully! Gorilla glass + core prime = frustration so does anyone know of other options for screen protectors?
