changing the frequency of the notification ring

I changed the notification ring to continue and not stop after one ring. I do I change it back to not continue to ring peridodically when I haven't answered a text?

Open your text messaging app, be on the main where you see all your messages, hit the menu button, settings - scroll down to the notification settings section. Click the message alert repetition and choose "once". You should be good to go!
