Samsung gs3 - how to delete photos

I have successfully cleared all pics from my SGS3 gallery but two, which were received as email attachments and uploaded into gallery when the attachments were opened in my SGS3. These pics are not visible when I open gallery, or when I go to the GS3 photo app. However, when I connect the GS3 to my laptop (Apple MacBook Pro) the pics appear in the laptop's iPhoto app as being present in the SGS3. However, the pics can neither be uploaded into the laptop, nor deleted from the SGS3 with the laptop because the pics are "in and unrecognizable format". Any suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! They might be thumbnails. Use a file manager to look at /storage/sdcard0/DCIM/Camera/.thumbnails, and see if those images are there.
