Youtube app video lag issue on the Note 10.1 (2014).

Hi,

For the last couple of days, I am unable to play any video in the youtube app on my Note 10.1(2014) without it lagging. The audio at times continues to play, but the video freezes. I have to scroll back and then re-stream it for it to play again.

I tried running the same video(s) on my Nexus 5 and One Plus One, and there everything is smooth. No lag what so ever, so I am guessing this is a Note 10.1 problem.

Any idea how to fix this?

YouTube has always been lousy on our tablet... a while ago they updated the app to allow us to change the viewing resolution to 1080p as well as 1440p... since the last update, they brought the maximum resolution back down to 720p. I also have frequent Wi-Fi drops with YouTube for some reason...

Same thing here as the OP is having. A lot of times I give up on the video even starting. I figured it was my wifi (and it may be). But the video freezing and audio playing is a relatively new thing.

YouTube has always been lousy ...

I've had a much better experience watching youtube videos with Dolphin browser.

I pretty much gave up on the youtube app

Thank you for the reply guys.

I disabled the youtube app, and then installed it again from the play store. I guess that somehow reset everything and at least for now streaming is back to normal.

I have this exact same problem on the YouTube app off my Samsung smart tv. I just can't watch any video!
