How to change MTP setting?

My 10.1 is connected to my computer. If I expand the notifications, there is an entry that says "Connected as media device Touch for other USB options".

If I touch that, it takes me into Settings / Storage settings / USB PC connection, where I can check or uncheck the Media device (MTP) box.

But, I cannot see any other way to get to that menu (other than tapping the notification bar notice). It seems like there should be a way to navigate the menus to get to it.

What if I want to uncheck that box when the tablet is not connected to my PC, so that it doesn't automatically connect with MTP?

Any idea on how to do that?

Settings -> Storage -> Right top bar settings button - > USB

I am having the same issue with an LG Stylo but when I go to the area you suggested, there is no "Right top bar settings button - > USB". It just says "Storage & USB" but where the three vertical bars are for other settings pages, none exist here.
