Have you tried going in to your settings, about tablet or device, and hitting check for updates? Also you can download Samsung Kies and see if you can update it through there. I know that the version GT-N8000 just started getting and update to 4.4.2 a while ago..

Thanks for replying. I have a GT-N8010. When I tell it to update it tells me that I have the latest version installed.

A few more questions if you don't mind: what is the best browser/way of watching streaming video on my tablet ? It always seems to break up or freeze, even when I'm connected to a very fast network. Also, if I have multiple tabs opened, when I move away from the tab that's streaming, the streaming stops.
