How do I activate Auto Hotspot on my Samsung devices?

Are you certain your wireless plan allows for hotspot usage? Which carrier do you have, and what country are you in?

If you're in the US and have a carrier branded phone it's likely the feature was removed. I know Verizon is notorious for modifying Samsungs default features like this. I could easily see them removing this to prevent people from going over on data by accident.

Based on the link shared above the feature is enabled on the phone, tablet software version would have no effect on that.

Are you logged in with the same Samsung account on both devices? That might be a factor.

OP I'm with Verizon and my plan includes Mobile Hotspot.
Am on Android 10 using a Note10+. As was stated may be a carrier suppression (and you might use an app like: QuickShortCutMaker to find it), though i found it under Connections/ MobileHotspot&Tethering/ MobileHotspot (long press to see sub menu)/ Select AutoHotspot
And, do check out the afore mentioned app if Auto Hotspot is not there in the settings! Good Luck

The question isn't hotspot. The question is Auto Hotspot. Someone thought that maybe allowing devices invisibly and without thought or action to use the phone's hotspot was something Verizon didn't want due to data limits.

Forget auto hotspot.

Pull your screen down from the top.
Touch hotspot to turn it on.


Do the same thing to turn it off.

Your tablet wouldn't have a hotspot unless you have a tablet that connects to cellular. The tablet has to be signed in to your Samsung account.

It is....same samsung account...I want to use auto hotspot feature with my tablet that is Wi-Fi only...

When you scan for wifi networks on your tablet do you see your phone? That's where you connect, password is usually your phone number.

The issue doesn't seem to be connecting to the hotspot. The OP wants auto hotspot to work.
