Thoughts on the Note 10 and Note 10+ now that everything has been laid out?

And thank feck the 5G is unlocked unlike the S10 5G.

Seems I will likely get the Note 10 + 5G.
Only 2 colours though. Rainbow or black.

If you go to the Samsung website they are not giving out that much for the Note 8. Heck for the S10 they are giving only $400. When I reserved I saw $600 as a trade in value.

Price.

The Note 10 is cheaper than a S10+.

In Canada the Note 10 is only $10 cheaper than the S10+ but you'd be giving up a lot just for the S-pen. Even worse the regular S10 is $150 cheaper than the Note 10 and it has higher res screen, headphone jack, micro SD etc.

I'm not impressed overall. Only 1080P and 3400 mAh for the regular Note 10, with that price? No. And the 10+ is a *hell* no. I'm not a fan of that center hole at all. Finicky motion gestures for the S-Pen are a gimmick, and, of course, no headphone jack, no buy. About the only thing I found interesting was the sound zoom feature. I'll be sticking with my S10+. And honestly, I think Note 9 sales will see a bit of a spike, now that the 10 is out. That's the one I'd go for if I wanted a Note device.
I agree, unless you want to have something new or latest , if you have a s10+ or note 9 hold of until next year .

OK so a couple points I want to throw out for discussion:

1. Screen resolution. Am I reading this right or does the Note 10 have only 1080p while the Note 10+ has 1440p? I've seen specs for the Note 10 and Note 10+ separately on various sites (ZDNet, GSMArena), but not together.

2. Looks like the pre-order gift is $150 to spend at Samsung.com. That's not so bad. Heck if I could somehow combine it with T-Mobile's trade-in value on my Galaxy Watch, that brings the Galaxy Watch Active2 LTE down to $140. Whether I'd actually want to give up my Galaxy Watch for what might be an inferior watch is another story...

All in all I'd say that the phones are what we'd expect. I'm gonna get the Note 10+ even though it's an incremental upgrade, simply because I lease phones and it's not too expensive to upgrade. But if it turns out the Note 10 has only a 1080p screen, I might have to reconsider. Which would suck because this would have been the first Samsung phone in ages that I would be passing on...

I was really hoping for a gradient color sort of like the p30 pro. I'm not impressed by the Aura Glow color.

Sorry, addendum to my previous post. I dug a bit more into Samsung's website, and they do indeed cite a WQHD (i.e. 1440p) resolution on the Note 10+. But only full HD on the Note 10.

Phew, that had me worried. Dang, I feel like Samsung was really off their game with this unveiling. We got very little info on the most important things.

It looks nice and the pricing wasn't terrible, they kept it just under "ridiculous" . The camera seems to have some very good features and they have the dedicated software for video that looks promising. I think it's a solid upgrade, not groundbreaking but it's decent.
