My Note10+ wont connect to my Vizio smart TV via Smart view

I just got my Note 10+ and although I can see my Vizio TV in the list when I open up smart view on my phone it will not make the connection.
This is a new Vizio TV with built-in chrome cast, Smart TV.
When I I try to connect it times out and fails. Every other Android device in the house can connect just my phone won't.
Why?
What am I missing?
OH, and my Note 10+ will connect to my Roku Stick in the other room.

Set Chromecast in the TV to use the same LAN as the phone. If they don't connect after that, call Vizio tech support. The phone connects to a properly-working Chromecast. (Not with SmartView, though - that's for Samsung TVs. Use a Chromecast connection.)

I am trying to use it with my Direct TV which does not have Chrome cast ability. I have to use Smart View.
The Chrome Cast does work

Chromecast is working on my two LG televisions no problem.

i NEED SMART VIEW to work in order to watch Direct TV on the tv - There is no way that I know of anyway, to cast the Direct TV from Phone to TV.
so unless you can tell me how to do that, I need SMART VIEW to work. and why will ALL my other devices connect except the 10+ ??
