CTE is unfortunately way too common among hard contact athletes who have retired. That was my first thought. It’s a brutal injury.

This is very true - one the most tragic cases was a local guy who played with the Patriots - Aaron Hernandez - not only did he end up taking his own life - but several others along the way - one of the doctors who examined his brain said it was the worst case of CTE he'd ever seen.

Been watching the NFL since the 50s, and just recently the CTE topic has become relevant.
