    FYI:

Bought an unlocked Note 10+, installed Google Fi sim, all was well until I found an area where the phone lost signal. During set up it stated this might happen.

This loss of signal is not acceptable to me, so in spite of it's many good points, the Note 10+ will be gone shortly.

Sorry to hear that.is there just no signal in that area, a dead zone? Was there signal there from your previous carrier?

If there's no signal from any Fi carrier at that spot, no phone will work there.

I've had Fi for years and every Pixel worked fine in that area. As mentioned in OP, during set up it states all Fi Features may not be available on the Note 10+ and there may be some dead areas.
This is the only explanation I can figure for the situation.

I'm glad I discovered this without it being an emergency situation.

edit: have a Pixel 3 to fall back on until the Pixel 4s arrive

I have been thinking about this all day, and finally decided to give the 10+ another try. I did a hard factory reset and set the phone up again. I went back to the area mentioned in OP, my son's house, and sure enough, the Note had reception. My DIL told me every once in a while texts get missed. All good now, thanks for the thought!

The Note 10 isn't a Fi phone so.. I wouldn't recommend using it on Fi. It won't do the auto connect to WiFi thing.

Yes Fi works great on the Pixel since it's made for it. Which means it will use WiFi automatically for known hotspots since it has the software for it. The Note 10 doesn't so...... Yep.

In post 5 I stated that I tried it in the same area again, this time with success. I will always wonder when/if it's going to "not connect" again. I hate to get rid of it since it is such a nice phone. Some more thought will have to go into this decision.

    Appreciate you input - thanks.
