    So Gmail has sync issues thus i tried Samsung Email app for a few days and turns out the Notification for new/old email keeps popping up. I am sure i am having the latest version. Its just annoying.

    Like for instance im using Whatsapp and an Email icon shows up showing me an old email which i received few days back or even months ago. Anyone else having this problem?

    Gmail had sync issues for a few days - not the app, the servers. That happens about twice a year. Changing apps doesn't fix it. (I get the same problems on the GMail app and Thunderbird on my desktop at the same times.)

    Samsung email used to be my email app of choice, but they ruined the UI for me about 3 years ago, so I stopped using it, went on an email app hunt, and ended up using the GMail app.

    I've never used Samsung's email app. I use Outlook. I'm more into the Microsoft ecosystem than I am into Google's. Outlook connects to my Gmail account, my Outlook account (both personal and school), and my corporate account (which uses Google). I don't have to open multiple apps for email or calendar. Anything I do in Outlook on my Surface Pro, desktop, or Tab S5e syncs across them all. Much better integration than what Google has right now.

    Been using Samsung's email app for the last 6 years for my business. I cant say I ever really had a problem, just a couple complaints about some settings that changed over the years.

    Do you have a POP account or Imap? Was the original message(s) marked as read or deleted? Or were they left as unread? Are you using conversation/thread view?

    About a year ago my brother had your problem on a Note 8. I deleted the account and recreated it. That fixed it. But I wouldnt mind learning the why and proper fix.

    Erm hi, im not sure if its POP or Imap. But the emails are unread. And the notification keeps popping up... Its annoying. I know its unread xD.

    Well... Gmail wouldnt push new emails... Samsung Email pushes new and unread emails...

    This is a stretch, but are you using conversation view? Menu > Gear icon > View: Standard / Conversation

    I use standard view because if a similar subject email arrives it can be lumped with other emails as a conversation. Im wondering if your Whatsapp emails are being lumped together as a conversation and notifying you that the other messages in the conversation are new?

    Does the problem happen regardless of the message source? Or does it seem more selective (sender/subject)? Or is it completely random.
