When it comes to quality of the forcast it is the weather model they are using that counts.
The apps are only cosmetic display for a weather model.
Best on the models are metoffice UK or US
Apps only use weather data open for all

Yeah, pretty much and usually the source of the info has their own app. But hey, people like the different visuals.

I think there is a little bit of variation with all weather apps. Personally, I change weather apps a couple of times with each phone I get. I find that some are more accurate than others, too.

I think Dark Sky is different, because it aggregates multiple sources, and also uses crowdsourcing: https://darksky.net/dev/docs/sources. I find it to be more accurate than any of the standalone services.

I agree B Diddy. Been using it since end of January and it's been spot on at saying when rain will start and stop for example.

I do agree, most weather apps are the same, they get their weather information from the same sources. the only difference is way you access the weather information and the look.

the weather app I use is because of the widgets ability to have transparent backgrounds. when I first started using it years ago, it was the only one I could find that had the transparent ability.

Nope - they are not alike. Weather channel app and WeatherBug are two different operations. WeatherBug app offers a lot more interesting features than the Weather Channel.

I use WeatherBug Elite as my main all around weather app. I like RadarNow Prem. as my storm tracking radar. So when severe weather is around,, since have the ability to see the Velocity, ( rotation). Where the winds coming from different directions ( red meets green ) .

I used Weather Underground for a time as well. Appy Weather sounds good! How much did it cost?

WeatherBug Elite is nice once you sign in. It comes alive with all it's features. I used WeatherBug at first for a few years and switched to WeatherBug Elite. I really like the app.
