So you guys n gals with your shiny new phones, would anyone have a Dex Dock laying around to try the Note 10 with the new windows app, it doesn't work with the Note 9, only works if you use a separate monitor like the old way.

I just hate the thought of making my Dex dock redundant that's all.

I don't have the dock, but I used it with a cable it's pretty nifty! The microsoft Your Phone connection works wirelessly, I've been texting from my PC since I set it up.

I'm in the same boat. I used NY tv as a monitor and wireless mouse and keyboard into the DEX doc. Can't do that now. Shame.

Has anyone tried using the DeX Dock with a wireless display adapter, BT keyboard and mouse? I have a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter that I take with me when I travel. I plug it into the hotel room TV and it allows me to connect via Miracast to the TV. I can connect my phone, tablet or Surface Pro to it.

If you connect a Note 10+ to a DeX Dock would that still let you connect to the wireless display adapter then use a BT keyboard and mouse?

If so, then you only thing you would need to use DeX would be the DeX Dock, a wireless display adapter, and a BT keyboard and mouse. This was the goal that Microsoft was shooting for when it developed Continuum. Unfortunately, Microsoft pulled the plug on it and Windows Mobile before it could come to fruition.

I would think you could just use Miracast to connect to the wireless display adapter. Really makes no sense as to why you would need the Dex dock for this. Especially if you're trying to pack lighter.

On a side note, I used to have a wireless display adapter for a similar reason. My company rented a motorhome for some destructive testing in the desert and I used it to play movies from my laptop during our breaks. Some lucky soul probably made out nicely as I totally forgot to remove it when we turned the motorhome back in.

True, but the DeX Dock or Pad would trigger DeX mode, which means it would be working in landscape mode and act like a computer versus a phone. Which would be a more efficient means of doing things like Word, PowerPoint, etc.

Yeah, I now how that feels. I left one somewhere in Georgia (I think) and one down on the Big Island. I also donated one to our troop for meetings and such.
