ROOT SIM FREE GN2 (UK Phone)

Hi All,

new to Android and want to go ahead and ROOT my phone.

Just been reading lots of info on ROOTing the Galaxy Note 2 N7100 and it's like information overload lol.

just been reading these threads:

just wanted to find out which is the best recommended method, and if anyone can point me in the right direction of a guide on performing one of these ROOTs. alot of the ROOTing seems to be aimed at AT&T etc but my phone is unlocked to all networks so not too sure which to go for or how to even go about it?

also i've encrypted the phone and SD card would that make a difference or will the phone simply be wiped and overwritten anyway?

i've had experience of jailbreaking iphones so i assume its a similar method (in theory)
