Screen automatically dims in certain app

Hi guys, why does my screen automatically dim in certain apps? For example, when i open the stock E-mail app, it reduces by screen brightness automatically by like 30%. And when i quit the app, brightness returns to the original setting. Can i turn off this function, or is it a bug?

In your display settings uncheck "Auto adjust screen tone" and see if that fixes your issue.

It could be the "power saving mode" in your settings as well, check that too.

Found the culprit.

It's the "Change background color" under "Power Saving Mode" in settings.
