Trouble connecting phone to car for music.."no songs on device"

I have a note 2 and when I connect it to my car using an AMI micro usb it says no songs on device on the screen in my car. So its recognising the phone but can't see the music

I dont use an SD card at the moment
.
I wonder do I have to move the files to a certain folder?

The original set up in my car was for apple (its a 1 year old Audi) but I just changed connectors for my Note 2
