Allshare cast

Does anyone have an allshare cast dongle? Is it worth having? Is there anything that can be done with allshare cast if you don't have the dongle?

Actually I just read in the sprint forum thst our phones could share pictures and video with xbox 360 and ps3 wirelessly using dlna. Im gonna try it tonight when I get home.

The implementation on the ps3 is pretty janky. It does work though.

I could stream my photos through my ps3 but I can't do it with my videos, having a hard time trying to figure it out... If anyone has any input, please share.

No one really answered the original op. Is it okay to disable? It shows in my running apps in app manager.

Yes it ok to disable. Allshare cast only works with the dongle or a samsung smart tv. If you have neither then you cant use it anyways.

DLNA is what worked for me earlier.

Do the gallery app use allshare cast to beam the photo to my Sony bravia wifi tv? Because I wasn't sure what it use

Thats called dlna. Similiar but not the same thing. Allshare cast lets you stream everything. Homescreens, widgets whatever. You can stream any app to your bigscreen.
