    Hello all,

Over the weekend, my Galaxy Note 2 showed a notification saying that I have a Blank SD Card. All of my pictures, music, contacts and other downloads are all still on the phone. When I click the notification, it prompts me to format the sd card. When I click format, the phone says "preparing sd card....", then a few seconds later reverts back to the "Blank SD Card" notification.

I've taken the card out and re-inserted it with the same errors, restarted the phone with the card inside and out with the same notification continuing to come up.

I started to browse the forums and tried some of the remedies I found.

I inserted the card into another droid device, HTC Thunderbolt, with the same notifications when attempting to format.
I used a card reader and tried to format via windows, "Windows was unable to complete the format".
I downloaded SDFormatter, "The Memory Card is write-protected. Please release the write protect switch". I switched the lock switch on and off, even placed scotch tape over the lock switch as suggested by a youtube video.
I then saw an "Easy Fix" off of a forum that prompts you to create a shortcut for the card reader drive, set the location to cmd, and use a MS-Dos command screen to check the disk ( chkdsk <f:> /r)..."The volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted."

So, now I come to you and ask, what the hell does all this mean anyway? I mean, it appears my phone is still functioning as if nothing is wrong, my contacts, pictures, music and other crap is still there so maybe it's saved on internal storage? Is the card just corrupted? Is it time to replace it? Can I continue to use the phone with the card in it or will that affect the phone's performance in some way? I can't seem to back any files up that may even be on the card. Just looking for some guidance or someone else who has experienced this problem and their method to remedy it.

    As always, thanks much!

Just wondering if you were ever able to recover your data from your SD card? I had the same issue with my S4. It wiped my card and I am unable to do a quick format to use any of the recovery programs. Thanks,
