Google Hangouts display issue on my Note 2 [SOLVED]

Until recently, Hangouts worked fine. In the last month or so, whenever I type/dictate a line and hit SEND, I can't see the text without scrolling the screen upwards. My wife's Note 2 doesn't do that nor does my old phone (bionic). Anyone have a clue what is causing this display issue? (I already uninstalled/reinstalled several times to no avail.)

What keyboard? Try the version ripped from the nexus 5. Jerry posted it. It's in the factory image zip posted on the home page.

Tried Samsung, swype, android 4.4. No joy

May have just fixed it. Deleted convo and now text appears when I hit SEND. No longer need to scroll screen
