Over the past few years, across several Note devices, I have bounced back and forth between Samsung Messages and Google Messages. Most recently, I've been using Samsung Messages because I like the One UI design that makes it easier for one-handed and it seems to have RCS functionality. I haven't checked out Google Messages in a while. Now, I'm wondering if there are any nice or killer features that I'm missing out on with recent updates on Google Messages. Which would you all recommend?

I have been using Google messages for years and found it to be the best all around messaging app. I get messages on my pixel book and RCS is working great so far very similar to iMessage between two Android users. I used Textra in the past but always ended back with google. I never use stock apps like email or messaging.

I like Google because I can use it on my PC and I'm faster typing on my computer than on the phone. The only downside right now, until I can figure it out, is that I can't get it on my Watch 3.

I prefer Samsung messages, but since at&t doesn't allow rcs to work on Samsung messages I have to use Google messages.

Interesting. I wonder if accessing your messages works with Samsung Messages without having to use DEX.

Never tried Google Messages but I don't need unnecessary bloat on my phone.

Its not bloat if it works better than the native app or you like it better.

Bloat is preloaded. If you download it than its valued to you as the user and not really bloat at that point. Duplicate of the same thing, yes.

I prefer the design and functionality of Samsung Messages over Google Messages all day. I think I have RCS on Samsung Messages now too.

We've been waiting for Samsung to implement that for too long now.

Yeah, I thought it was weird that my unlocked Note 10+ didn't use RCS universal profile with Samsung Messages, but it does on my Ultra with T-Mobile.

I don't see a web interface for Samsung Messages. I've tried using Link to Windows and that doesn't work at all. But I just tried with Dex (thanks for the suggestion) and that works, although not as seamlessly as Google Messages.

Samsung messages, you get to hover your pen over the web addresses to reveal a sneak preview, who doesn't want that!
RCS also enabled here, haven't had the need to use it but its there, also everything that I need for customisation is there, also I like to keep things as stock as I can.
