Unlocked Ultra on Verizon, how to 5G?

I picked up the Note 20 Ultra unlocked version and am running bit on Verizon. I'm just curious, will this pick up 5G on its own or is there anything I have to do to the phone and it plan?

Btw I have a 5g tower one block away from my house. Hasn't picked up yet.

Good question , I'm on TMO and didn't have to do anything on my end and get 5G , might have to ask Verizon.

I've been told by Verizon I would get 5G automatically if I'm on a 5G plan, which I am. just gotta wait 1-2 years for it to reach my area. Lol.

Yes it'll pick up automatically but Verizon 5G currently is mostly mm wave which is in very few areas and coverage from the mm wave tower is also limited.

What plan you have? Are you on one of their recent unlimited plans? If yes I believe those plans have 5G included by default. Anyway you can check with Verizon to make sure that's the case. As far as the phone I don't think you need to do anything to enable as long as your plan has 5G included.

Yeah...if you have a plan that's a few years old like mine, 5G is 10 dollars a month extra or you can change to a plan that includes it. I don't have 5G in my area so I have made the change.

I feared the old plans didn't include 4G, I probably won't go 5G any time soon, my phone plan will go up over $100/month and Verizons nearest 5G tower is approximately 250 miles from me.
