Is there a reason I cannot add a contact I receive via phone call or text, to MS Outlook, only Samsung Contacts? Am I missing something?

    Appreciate any help

Have you enabled sync contacts in outlook app settings ? Then go to Samsung contact app setting manage contacts >default storage

Thank you for this response, but that doesn't do it. If I click on a texted contact card, it only shows Samsung Contacts as an option.

You should be able to set your contacts to sync with the Outlook account. My contacts sync with my Gmail and my Outlook accounts. I have contacts set up to default to my Gmail when I add new accounts.

Is you go into the menu of contacts you should see an option to "Manage Contacts" there. Make sure your Outlook account shows up there. After that you can set it as the default for adding new contacts.

    You don't see this option?

Do you have your Outlook account set to sync contacts? Also, when you save a contact, it isn't going to open your email or Outlook App. It opens your contacts app. It's all in where you sync and save the contacts.

For me, if I receive a text from a new contact, I can click the as button. It open my contacts app and populates the phone number. Because I have mine set to default to my Google contacts, that is where it defaults to. Now I did notice I have to scroll up to see which account it's saving to. From there I can change it to my Outlook account.

Basically what I'm saying is that you don't save you contacts to the Outlook app. You save them in the contacts app to your Outlook account. If this is set up as default it's transparent to you.

I don't think it will do what you are saying. It will sync to outlook as others are saying but I don't think there is a way to click on a text or phone call and click add to contact and Outlook show as an option. My only options are Google Contacts and Samsung Contacts. If you have them sync then doesn't matter. Probably has to do with Google and Samsung have their own contact app, outlook is built into the email app.

I think the problem is that Outlook isn't a contacts app itself. You don't open it to view contacts. The contacts app that opens saves the contacts to Outlook or Gmail or Yahoo or whichever service you are using to save your contacts. It defaults to Samsung but it's easily changed.

In fact, my Outlook app itself doesn't even allow me to add a contact there. It accesses your contacts on the Exchange server. You can set it up to automatically save contacts to the Exchange server.
