I already know that all panels are different, but I got my unlocked N20U yesterday and I was scrolling through Instagram late last night and noticed that the bed sheets in someone's pic looked off. The white didn't look as bright as I thought it should. Since I still have my Note 10+ I grabbed it and looked at the same pic side by side. Sure enough, the white balance is much better on the Note 10. The sheets looked nice and white like I was expecting.

I of course compared the settings and they were both set on Vivid with the white balance slider dead in the middle. THE RBG sliders under advanced settings are the same on both. I tried adjusting the white balance on the N20U every way that I could but nothing made it match how it looks on the Note 10.

Then I checked twitter. I use dark mode so it's white text on a pitch black background and again, the text on the N20U looks "dingy" compared to the white text on the Note 10.

I honestly wish I hadn't done that comparison because now I can't unsee it. So I then did a comparison with an iPhone 11 Pro Max and its white balance basically matched the Note 10. Both look great. And then there's the N20U, which looks dingy. The brightness level was set to the same on both Notes as well.

I've played with every setting I could and now I'm thinking about returning it. I was absolutely in love with it until I noticed that issue.

I'm guessing you already checked, but any chance it was the blue light filter? That makes whites look dingy on my phone & tablet.

I hope you find an answer, the N20U is such a great device.

    Yep, checked that. It's off.

Doesn’t sound good. Could be it a rogue handset?

Under Wallpapers (long-press on home screen), try turning off Apply Dark Mode to Wallpaper. See if that helps.

UPDATE: I found a YouTube video that helped me fix the problem. It's still not the same as the Note 10 plus, but it's like 99.8% there and I can certainly live with it.
