I am a new Note 20 Ultra owner and have what I think is a simple question. The camera app that comes with the phone is a good app, but always being one to tweak things, I started playing around with a few other Android camera apps. The problem is, none of them see all 4 of the Note's cameras, particularly, the 108 MP one. Has anybody used another app that works like the built in one one, but maybe is a bit more robust? Any help would be appreciated!

I don't have this phone, but historically speaking, third party camera apps don't play well with all camera modules on a given phone. They are often additionally hindered by hardware/firmware limitations (I.e. The app may be capable of a 30" exposure, but Samsung use to limit it to 10" max even on the third party app). My suggestion would be to stick with the OEM app and use its own manual controls if you like to tweak. I would only use a third party app if you need something specific that the OEM app doesn't allow. An intervalometer camera app would be a good example of that.

I use the stock camera app, then use Adobe Lightroom to make adjustments to any photos that I don't like the outcome of, later! Lots of possibilities in that App!

Gcam (Google Camera) is probably the best one if you can find a stable version for the Note 20 Ultra.

Latest one I have on mine is GCam 7.3.018 by Urnyx05 Version : 2.2

It has a few of the interesting different options our Samsung camera app doesn't have like HDR plus, Astrophotography, Photosphere

But as someone said above, most 3rd party camera apps don't work with all the different camera lenses. Like the GCam doesn't work with the selfie front cam, but does use the widescreen and regular cameras (not the 108mp).

Originally I thought it strange that other camera apps couldn't access the additional cameras. It was Moment that revealed Samsung wouldn't give them access to the additional cameras on the phones when they announced they were ending support for the Android app. They went as far as manufacturing and selling cases where you could mount their lens over the additional cameras but could never use them.

Thanks everybody. I have only taken a few photos with my phone, but have used the stock camera app. I have noticed though that the 108mp camera seems to take inferior photos than the 12mp one. Somebody with more knowledge may correct me, but I do not think this is a true 108mp camera. I think it is software interpolated. I tried several versions of the Google Camera, but it crashes when I choose the wide angle lens. I have a few other 3rd party camera apps on the phone, but it seems stock is the way to go!

It is a 108MP camera, but that result doesn't surprise me. When it comes to camera sensors, image noise is directly related to pixel density. The smaller and more dense the pixels, the more noise is generated. It has to do with electrical interference between them. These sensors are tiny to begin with, and even larger full frame DSLR's don't have such resolutions yet. My LG V60 has a 64MP sensor, but its photos are junk as well. I keep it set to 16MP binned mode and the photos are great.

Things are sold by the numbers these days. More megapixels does not mean you are getting a better camera. My old LG V40 took better photos than this Note. I will see if my opinion changes using the standard lens. Most of my photos are taken with an actual camera anyway, but I like having the phone for closeup shots.

I too have an LG V40 as I've always gone between Samsung and LG because of their exceptional camera set ups among other features. I found that my V40's pics are often similar to my Note 9. With the Note 20 Ultra I find that the powerful zoom capabilities elevate my mobile photography game to a whole new level and I've been nothing but pleased with this device's camera prowess.
