I have a unlocked note 20 ultra from samsung on at&t i do have wifi calling but to get the advance messaging i would have to flash it to a AT&T firmware or even doing that wont give me advance messaging???

You would have to flash any if the U firmware thats available like TMB=TMobile for region , best to download from XDA Forums frija firmware tool and odin patch 3b
Ok question tho if i do that is it gonna have the tmobile on boot up instead of the at&t? And if i do that way doesn't the phone need to be completely wiped?

It shouldn't with a Att sim card unless your phone not sim unlocked and yes it will wipe the device so backup everything
Ok how would I know if the sim is unlocked? Why is this so difficult for at&t lol when i 1st got this phone i flashed it to the tmobile firmware with no problems and now trying to do it with at&t seems like a headache could I put a older at&t firmware on and then do a update? Is that possible?

Try to install another carrier sim card see if it works , you probably wont be able to go down in the firmware but you would have to try

Alright i am going to try it tonight is possible to do it without wiping data since i all want is the at&t firmware

Anytime going to carrier firmware or to unlocked it wipes it , once your on either and want to update then you dont need to wipe .

Sorry 1 last thing which version of odin shoild be used cause i notice there's a 3b or the newest 1? I remember once time i tried it kept giving me a fail on the newest version and then i tried the 3b and it worked

Yes 3b use the latest , its the odin for switch between carriers and Unlock firmware
