You can only get one and you have to trade in your Note 20 Ultra.

Do you want the ZFold3 256GB (with free Galaxy Buds 2) and trade in value of 825 for the N20 Ultra for a total of 725.00.

Or wait for the S22 Ultra?

Those are the options, no other options.

I am seriously considering trading my Z Fold 3 for an S22 Ultra.

I think the S22 Ultra is the more practical phone overall, but I would really miss reading on the inner screen when unfolded and especially the multitasking options.

    Z fold 3 Pros

    1) Much easier to read on when unfolded, especially on web sites not formatted for mobile
    2) Multitasking!
    3) Water resistance
    4) S-Pen support for inner (main / foldable) screen

    Z-Fold 3 Cons

    1) Price
    2) No dust resistance - can't take to the beach, have to keep pocket lint out of it. It goes in a zipper pouch whenever pocketed or taken outdoors.
    3) No S-Pen silo - S-Pen requires a case and all current S-Pen cases have drawbacks. Samsung case is bulky and S-Pen on spine of hinge prevents phone from lying flat when unfolded. Pen is also harder to get to when phone is unfolded. Spigen pen case is better for pen access but requires stickies to adhere to the phone and doesn't protect the hinge. Other cases with slot for S-Pen on the back interfere with wireless charging.
    4) S-Pen does not work on outer screen, which is where I would make screen off notes if I could. If phone is unfolded, chances are screen is on. If screen is off, chances are phone is folded. That's when I want to make screen off notes.
    5) No Bluetooth functionality with S-Pen Fold edition, which is the only one that fits any of the cases.
    6) Narrow outer screen is pain to type on
    7) Inferior camera hardware

S22 Ultra pros (based on leaked specs)

    1) S-Pen silo
    2) Price relative to Z Fold 3
    3) S-Pen Bluetooth functionality
    4) Dust and water resistance
    5) Screen off memo functionality available for all use cases
    6) Anticipate wider selection of accessories
    7) Best camera hardware

    S22 Ultra cons

    1) Multitasking not as good, multi-app workflows more kludgy
    2) Will really miss that larger screen for reading

    Hope this helps

I'll stay right where I am. One handed use on front screen for on the move, quick replying. The front screen was not intended for main use. Open the screen for main use, big screen can't beat it. Spen is more of a pleasure to use on big screen. A lot of us don't use the Bluetooth wave the wand stuff, so that's individual. The camera does more then I need, I will buy a stand alone camera if I want professional pictures or editing crap.

The price of all phones is high. Nobody was complaining about $1,500 for a note 20 5G 512 version. I paid $1,700 for my fold 3 512 version. The fold 3 phone came down in price from the fold 2 I'm having my doubts the same will happen with the S22.

The folding phones are new technology and new technology always is expensive at first. We are paying for technology of folding now, other upgrades will come. They did with the note.

Edit..it might have been the note 10 5G that was the $1,500. Not for sure.

I'd definitely keep the Fold 3 over buying the S22U which will likely be not that different from the S21U.

And yes typing on a narrow virtual keyboard is horrible unless you swipe. Virtual keyboards need large screen space to be somewhat accurate.

would like to have either one but at this time, the fold is just too thick to carry around in my pants pocket. I would wait a couple of months and get the s22 Ultra.

But the front screen is intended for quick stuff. I agree, swipe is the way to go for front screen.

Hopefully the Fold 4 can have a standard aspect ratio screen of 16:9 or 18:9 on the outer, but that means the inner will be landscape similar to the Galaxy Tabs

I've thought about that with the outside screen and then thought about the inside screen being bigger also. It's a tuff thing for me as I want to keep the phone portable also. IMO the note was getting to big, so that's why I started using the fold 2, now fold 3. It gives me one handed usability folded and just flip open when I want bigger screen.

I know a lot give static about being bulky or not pocketable as thicker. I don't agree with that. I've had both the fold and notes. The note is bulky wide, making it just as hard to pocket in a lot of pants.

That makes sense. And with time I can only imagine that Samsung will make even lighter and thinner foldables.

It's impressive how far they've come after juste three iterations already.

Fold 3 is nice I can see the lure of it and I would've made the jump if the spen was built in. I think the S22 is gonna be a real beast tho if it gets that new processor. I also think you'll get better camera specs with the S22 and better functionality of the spen over the Fold. The added water and dust resistance is a plus. I think the aspect ratio on certain video content isn't full screen or something correct if I'm wrong Fold users from what I've see reviewers talk about. That being said if the Fold 4 slaps a spen inside and it gets better camera specs for that price then take my money. Lol.

    S22 Ultra for me.

I have great respect for the Fold line & all that own one. It just doesn't fit my lifestyle.

I live at the base of a bluff terrain. It's gritty. I also spend a lot of my summer in the mountains camping & fishing. I don't want to worry about grit in the hinges, or losing the spen because of no silo.

I'm never far from a tablet, laptop, computer or TV screen. A larger screen on a phone doesn't hold much appeal in my case.

The Fold is a nice & it's made great strides, it's just not for me.

The SD888 in the S21 series is more than powerful enough for many years to come, even for the most intensive users. An even better processor by itself wouldn't be compelling enough to buy the S22U instead of a discounted S21U, imo.

Yeah, if I'm gonna carry around a large phone that weighs over 200g, I'd want it to unfold into a tablet. Might as well lol.

Yeah the fold³ height and width much smaller then my pixel 6pro and Note 20u , this device is very compact

Yeah and the weight was reduced by 11g between the Fold 2 and 3.

I wouldn't mind if they used an aluminum frame and/or plastic or leather back on the 4 to bring that weight down to 220g or so, if that's even possible.
