With the new S series phone release coming up, do you all think the 22 Ultra will be worth the buy? So far... well at least from the renderings I've seen on YouTube, nothing has really grabbed my attention;at least not enough to make me really want to buy it.

I like the Note series, but really find I don't use the S-pen that much anymore. I am only considering the S22 for the smaller one. I have small hands and my grip has been altered by chemo side effects and finger sticks.

With the Note being almost a 2 year old phone they'll be definitely upgrades. I found two years is a good amount of time to wait between phones.

But my "contact" for the discount won't end until fall, as long as it works, and I see no reason to pay off early, I'll wait at least until fall.

I use the pen a lot, so I'd get that one.

I am keeping an eye on the S22 Ultra, its the perfect upgrade from my Note 20 Ultra, BUT, only if its either the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 varient or the Exynos 2200 somehow manages to be on par with it, because the Exynos 990 on my current Note 20 is way behind the Snapdragon 865+

Will wait to see if the S23 Ultra next year is a bigger upgrade. I'm hearing RAM will be less on the S22 Ultra then the Note 20 Ultra, no SD card slot, same cameras pretty much (minor changes to the 108mp one etc) and same or less internal storage.

S23 Ultra is supposed to get the new 200mp camera and hopefully 1TB storage .

It's not a deal breaker for me but I'll have to see how much the phone will be priced at and what price at the different storage levels...

Rumored $1399 for the base model?? 64GB?? So what are the next storage jumps... 128GB guessing at $1499 and 256GB at $1599?? Nothing larger after that?? If they did offer 512GB and 1TB good luck finding them because if I recall they were notoriously scarce.

With the N8 and N20U you could enjoy buying the base with the smallest storage and just spending on an SD card to take it as high as you want or go higher later. But now you have to make that decision how much is enough at the beginning. I think 128GB would be enough for me since I have yet to fill my 128GB MicroSD card I've had since the N8... but $1500... hmm.

My phone situation is in limbo right now cause it's at unbreakifix and dealing with them is souring my taste for Samsung. Loved both my Notes but the hardware has been questionable with each phone with issues and relying on 3rd party support compared with my experience with finding an Apple Store pretty much anywhere in the US and getting service on it... Maybe this will push me to go with the iPhone 14 Pro when avail.

I'd be surprised if the S-Pen with silo survives in the S23.

I think the S22U was an opportunity to kill the Note line, bring it to the S22U for one last hurrah using what was probably the Note 21 shelved. And the S23 Ultra will be completely redesigned to fall back inline with the rest of the S design language and they offer the S-Pen as an accessory. But just a guess and we won't know until 12 months from now.

If this is the last note Im definitely going to payoff and keep my note 20 u. I probably will eventually end up back with the S family , but not right now.

I will only lose features from here forward, so I'm clinging to my note 20u as long as I can.

Note 20u already has:

Great cameras
QHD @ 120 Hz (via ADB hack)
micro SD
MST for Samsung Pay (need it regularly)
S Pen
ESIM & DSDS
5G

The only thing left that I wish the Note 20u had is a dual aperture main camera (like the Note 10+). The current main camera's aperture is too razor-thin and makes documentation challenging.

Yeah I did keep up on twitter to get the latest info.

Early days yet for comparisons but Samsung really are acting strange with this release, which does make people sceptical about its performance.

I've had my Note20U since 6/21 so I am not feeling the need to upgrade. However those late night purchases may creep in...

Yes, I will be jumping on the S22U. I got the ZF3 and I do like it and will keep it around and see what the ZF4 will show. I will keep them both. I still have my N20U and my N10+ so I will look to trade in the N10+.

I would have liked the 21 ultra, but with as powerful as these phones are, it's hard to want to upgrade. I've been meaning to dust off my note 10+ and my note 8 and give them some time.

Not having the built in pen was an issue, even if I don't use the pen that much.

We'll see. I signed up. I'm curious about how the phone will actually look, and what the specs will be.

Honestly phone still works great and does everything I need, I may rock the Note 20 U until it no longer gets security updates.

Well, the thing is... knowing that there is a newer Note available, if not in a rush then one can enjoy their current phone and wait 12 months to get one. Only a op to get one for a great deal would push one to get one sooner... and not talking $50 store credit lol.

Honestly same for me. For one I like using the SD card to store my media so losing it and paying more for storage doesn’t interest me. The 100mp camera interests me as a novelty but more for the higher optical zoom to 10x cause I did use my zoom when I was vacationing to places like Maine this past year.

Otherwise the only reason to buy in 12 month is that my current phone will be old enough that I want a fresh phone for the next few years… unless we see a Note 23… then can skip the 22.

I do like sd card also but today wouldn't make me not get a device , still waiting one day for notification led light ( wishful thinking)
I have enough storage on Smart switch pc /cloud service and on device
