barely squeaking by with t-mo 500mb plan...I've been good at keeping mobile consumption low with beng connected to wifi most of the day. I think the average person can get by with a 2.5gb plan given that that person practicies good mobile/wifi habits

I use around 500mb a month. The only thing I don't do on mobile data would be Netflix/YouTube. I stream Spotify and Pandora. I have a 2GB plan and the most I've came to was 1gb and that was last month

Verizon unlimited. I use about 30 gb a month.
How? I drive truck, three to five weeks at a time. I won't pay the outrageous truckstop wifi prices, and since I team drive, when I'm off duty the truck is moving and out of range anyway.
What? Streaming video, podcasts and internet radio get most of it, then social media and internet browsing.
Why? Because Verizon and I made a deal, and I pay my $30 every month.

For me, it's no more than 4GB. I work part of my week at home, use my computer and network, so there's no need to use data on the phone. I use data when, the rest of the week, I'm in satellite offices, primarily using the hotspot. I'd love to be able to comfortably read and watch movies on my phone, but find the present screen too small. The latter, in fact, is what primary interests me in Note 3. Otherwise, I often find myself like using a powerful scientific calculator to do four basic arithmetic functions.

My other reason to try to hold on to unlimited data is the sense that soon my kids will overpower me and demand to upgrade their dumb phones to smartphones, and then a sky is the limit.

I have a rooted Droid Razr Maxx. My monthly average is around for 4.3 gb per month with downloading podcasts, YouTube, tethering to other devices and the occasional streaming of video. On the months we go on vacation or I travel for business it was spike to as much as 8gb. It just depends on the month.

I'm on the 500MB plan with T-Mobile and in one week of just Web browsing and Facebook it's done then I'm back to edge which I don't mind. I just have everything on cache at work and use my work place Wi-Fi to let videos or large games to update. Once I finished payment with my phone I will be upgrading to unlimited! So I don't have to go through looking for a wifi public hot-spot it's a hassle to always wondering where is the nearest wifi free area?

And with being said, I'm about to give up my unlimited data cause I will being saving $50 a month by going on a shared plan with my wife's 4 lines and still be able to use up to 6gb of data by myself. (all 4 phone barely use 2 gb of data a month, uping her plan to 8gb overall) it's to much money saved per month not to switch.

once again I'll say it. ....I have no interest in worrying about my usage or developing "good wifi" habits. I have unlimited, I pay for it, and I plan on using it. these phones are amazing and tying them down to wifi only or mostly seems crazy. thats how I feel anyways, to each his own. ....

The first picture is a week and a half billing cycle (discount added to account so T-Mobile only set me up for a short cycle).

Streaming 1080P video via twitch.tv can rack it up.

The second picture is about 3 days into my new cycle. One from phone next from what T-Mobile shows.
