Got the Galaxy Gear yesterday. The sparse user guide indicates that one can either press the power up button or "shake" the watch to wake it up. I am not sure if I have a defective watch, by no matter how much shaking I do the watch does not wake up. The power button wakes it up fine.

    Anyone else have this issue?

I am not aware of an option to wake the Gear by shaking, but if you lift the watch to look at it the display should come on.

Just a sharp jerk will wake the screen no need to look at it

Nothing to worry about. It does not have a sensitivity adjustment. It's a matter of lifting arm and twisting it towards you and it should come on.

    No issues w mine.
