Could be a fake. This is another item, but qas deemed to be a fake. There are too many fake Samsung charger and cables going around. I would only buy directly from ama, Samsung, or other major outlet.

Also, this guy has few posts, all are for items for sale on dx-box. Sounds like he is trying to hawk dx-box goods.

A little off topic... But has anyone besides me had an experience with their cat chewing on the white cords. For some strange reason, my cat will go out of his way to find these cords and chew on them. Lost 3 white Samsung USB cords this way. A friend of mine had the same experience. Could conceivably damage the phone if you don't notice it. Cat seems to pay no attention to the black USB cords. Not sure if it is taste or smell.

Need to find a replacement now. Ugh.

I bought 2 of these back when this originally posted, just received them a few days ago. They appear to be the genuine article (shipped from China of course). Originally, it didn't recognize my USB device but after I unplugged and re-plugged it, it took. I hope it didn't install some sort of Chinese spying program....I'm spied enough on by my own government....

500 mAh is the maximum USB output from every computer. It doesn't matter if it's USB 3.0 or 2.0. The extra 3.0 pins are just for data.

Actually usb 3.0 can charge at 900mah

So a computer with USB 3.0 port should be able to charge with 900mA ... and a phone with a USB 3.0 port should sense the computer's USB 3.0 port and should take 900mA, shouldn't it?

Edit: I take it for using an USB 3.0 cable With an USB 2.0 cable the phone might not sense that the computer has an USB 3.0 port (if there isn't used any kind of enumeration on the USB 2.0 data lines).

I have 5 cats - they only like chewing 120 volt cords. Low voltage cords don't excite them.

If you want longer cables, blue and black, these work. I have the blue 6-foot cable and it works for charging and data.

I have 2 cats and we have 3 samsung products (2 note 3s and a samsung tablet). Neither of our cats eat/chew on the white cords (or any other cables). Perhaps there is some scent on the cord - from being in your purse, etc - that makes them want to chew on it? My male cat will lay in the laundry basket because he goes crazy over the scent of our laundry detergent.

Just a thought! Hopefully your next cable will survive a cat attack! :-)

    Sarks.

Shnikes I realize this is an old thread but when I got my galaxy 5 I went through 5 USB 3.0 cables! That would be 5 Samsung white cables as they're what my cats preferred. That phone is history yet two cables still remain as cat toys. Today I got the edge 6+ and don't cha know, they're going right after the Samsung white 2.0 cable. My only guess is Samsung with their use of proprietary cables puts catnip in the cables to drive up accessory sales. Filthy bastids! Wth

Yes my cat will only chew the samsung white cords as well. No problem with any other cords except that one. Must have a certain taste they like.

Yes! My cats chew only white Samsung charger cords. I am going broke buying new ones. They do not bother any other cords, white or black, around the house. I contend there must be something interesting in their content or smell. My only idea is to completely wind the cord with black electrical tape and hope that disguises whatever is so alluring about these Samsung white cords.

Every white cord I've had has been chewed up also my xbox 360 controller charging cord. It's exactly like you say. They don't want the black samsung cords.
