I canNOT figure out how to get my action memo, say a grocery list I wrote out, to my daughter's iphone. After I've written out what I want, I click on the dotted circle with arrow, then click on text msg. I can enter her cell number in and the action memo I just wrote is floating as a little square on my screen. When I send it as is, she just gets a text with nothing on it.
I admit defeat, I've googled this and can't find out how either.
    Thanks in advance....

On my VZ Note 3, my action memo goes straight as a contact when I click the text msg option. Not sure how to get the handwritten text into the msg box. ??

I imagine that if its possible, there is some symbol or something to signify the break between To: and Body:

I tried several ideas, but could'nt get it to work

    in app - Note3

I got the same result as you joan006. I tried to even make the note an attachment, but no luck there either.

Anyone been able to do this? If so, how? Thanks.

not perfect, but the #1 reason i love the note. while holding down the stylus button draw around your list, this will take a screenshot of what ever shape you drew, then it will popup with options, text is one...a workaround but kinda fun.....!

The action memo text message option can only translate a handwritten phone number and put it as a recipient in a text message app. It won't add anything to the body of the text message.

    From the android police review:

"Unfortunately, Action Memo has some rather frustrating limitations at the moment. For sending a text message, for example, all you can get it to do is recognize and pre-fill the recipient, and it has to be formatted as a phone number. It does not recognize contact names. So that's pretty useless."

Was tasking myself with figuring this out the day I got the phone. Tried and tried, but failed, same issue as OP.
Now, that is a good piece of info, @chenj57. No wonder we couldn't figure it out.

Create your action memo...save it as normal. Then go to your Action Memo App. Once in the App...click on menu and select Share via. Once Share via is clicked you will have boxes appear on the right hand corner of all your notes. Click the one you want to share and then click Done. After that you will have a whole host of choices to share...including text messages.

Thank you mcat66! I just tried it your way and it worked. That's a lot of steps to send it in a message, but workable!

    Action Memo anomaly
    1. Able to insert "handwritten" action memo directly into "Texting/Messaging" body
Screen capture link - [Short link removed by moderator]
    2. See top photo - Used the anomaly link "Send MMS" - suddenly it appeared and when selected inserted my handwritten action memo directly into the body of the messaging application.
    3. Only able to replicated this anomaly twice...but cannot figure out how or what sequence of events produced the "Send MMS" link to appear.
    4. See bottom photo - as you can see...the handwritten action memo was inserted...not converted to text.
Group FYI - If this function could be replicated, texting would be more appealing vs. inputting via the keyboard.
    All help would be appreciated.

I just got my Galaxy Note 3 last weekend and already I know it's one of the best devices I've ever owned
. . . was playing around with the Action Memo application and was able to do what you are all discussing here pretty easily!
    1. Open up Action Memo and write something to test
    2. Once your note is ready, select the <List View> from the little menu bar
    3. You will see all your notes here, the last one you wrote should be at the top
    4. Use the Samsung menu and select <Share via> and you get a list of the various ways you could send the memo
    5. Pick your method of transmission; in my case it was <Messages>
    6. You are then presented with your list of Memos again but notice there are selection boxes now; select the memo you want to send

. . . and Waaaa LA! Up comes your Action Note in the message application, ready for you to modify and send

If you hold the button down on the pen while it is touching the top bar, it will take a screenshot of the whole screen. (you could also do it traditionally by pressing POWER/HOME buttons). Now you can send the screenshot or edit it in gallery and move it to your laptop's file system, etc. This saves having to draw an enclosing box., and using gallery to crop is cleaner than drawing a freehand box. The first step is to produce a png or jpeg via screenshot. It worked 70% of the time. Mysteriously I got empty files some of the time.

The whole thing of action memo is to write a number, name or search term and have it populate whatever app you want. It's not for writing notes and sending them. You write a number then click action and text and you can text that number. Or you can write an email address and either click email or contact and have it populate whichever app you choose. The app isn't for writing notes and sending them. That's what S Note is for. Ya'll are not using the app for what it's made for.
