    What are the benefits of having a rooted note 3 besides airplay compatible with Apple TV coming from always having a jailbroken iPhonex. Airplay compatibility alone is making me want to root

    Where're did you hear that rooting a android will give you airplay support.

    I would question that. Airplay is proprietary to Apple and someone would be in some you know what if that was added to android.

    I would suggest you try just activating the built in dlna server in the note 3. It has worked well for me in the past.
