Hi, I recently got a new Samsung Galaxy Note 3, have verything setup pretty much the way I would like it. However the email polling is set to 15 minutes and I wanted to change that to 5 but for the life of me I cannot find where to change the polling interval.

Anyone able to advise me where to find polling interval?

    Thanks
    Dan

I just did this on my GS5. Unfortunately, the shortest interval I can choose is 15 minutes. I'd like it to be 5.

On my email (stock samsung email app) it depends on whether the address is hotmail, Gmail etc.

For hotmail I can have it set at 5 mins but for yahoo and Gmail the shortest time is 15 mins. I don't know why this is - perhaps someone else will know.

This isn't a problem for me as I have mine all set to push. Perhaps someone will be able to help you out, BBRfuG. Hope you get your problem solved.

    Sarks.

I do have Yahoo linked to it, but I also have an email from the server at my own domain. It's 15 minutes minimum as well.I don't have a Hotmail address so I can't test that. If you know of any other services, I'd be interested in trying them.

I can get 5 minutes with Yahoo on the stock email (I only have Yahoo on it).

I generally use the Yahoo app which pushes or doesn't need sync on.
Writing on the Yahoo app I have always found troublesome in that it arrives at the recipient with lost formatting or paragraph spacing, and often does not include the original in a reply, though selected.

Have you tried adding your site mail to Yahoo, Gmail or the better recommended mail apps. There was a recent thread in the Note 4 forums.

Sorry for the late reply. No, I haven't tried the other apps. In fact, I'm doing my best to divest myself of Yahoo! mail. Since i have my own mail domain from my own hosting service, I'm trying to switch all those Yahoo mail aliases over. I think, in the wake of all this new "email spam filtering" that some of the larger services (e.g. Verizon Vs. Yahoo) tend to cancel each other out. Several times, I've tried to send from my Yahoo! account to a "verizon.net" recipient, and it's failed to deliver. Problem is, it doesn't bounce back, either. I think I'll have more success when I send from my own domain. As for the GS5, I'll probably set up a forwarding rule such that all mail from each domain account gets forwarded to the one domain account I have registered on the GS5.

    We'll see.
