I moved from a Note 2 to a Note 3. The Note 3 is better in many ways as many of you have pointed out. But I am disappointed in the Note 3's camera and that the Note 3 cannot play more than a few songs via Chromecast with the screen off without losing the connection.

What do you find to be disappointing in the camera?

It's okay, but low light photos are not as good as with the Note 2. There have been a few threads on this.

I initially did, but I am so glad I caved in a purchased the note 3. Huge improvement especially in the screen! Samsung did a good job of improving everything. I could go on, but I wont. Those that are keeping the note 2 another year still have quite a phone. I still have mine. Going to do some camera shots I'm the dim with them both.

I resisted, but caved in and I am so glad I did. This phone is close to perfect for me. I upgraded from a Note 1.

Only gripe is lack of oem accessories. I had a Samsung car and desk dock for the Note 1 that doesn't fit Note 3.

I just got the Note 3 to replace a S4. I have used fingerprint scanners on laptops and found them more trouble than they were worth. I had wireless charging on a Palm Pre+ and it was a nice feature but with no standard for wireless charging yet and newer systems coming online from Samsung and Sony (both different and different than Qi) I would not want to get a phone with wireless charging now and be left in the cold like the Palm Pre+.
I find the Note 3 screen to be as good as the Note 8 which is exceptionally good.
For me it was a great choice and the right time to choose.
The iPhone 5s fingerprint scanner works great. Press once just like you normally do to turn on the screen with the home button and the screen is unlocked. No extra effort is required, beyond the initial setup which takes about a minute. So it can certainly be done right.

No extra effort is required to send the fingerprint you scan in to the NSA either lol. I'm sure they could have a field day with this. Use fingerprint scanning to Id a criminal then the gps to hunt you down.

Id gladly sacrifice lowlight photos which are a no no with a camera phone anyway for more vivid shots and image stabilization. I love the camera

It is stored on the Samsung built a7 chip. But anyway, if you don't want to use it, fine. I was just addressing the previous poster who said that fingerprint scanners were more trouble than they are worth.

I was one of the original people that thought upgrade for what? But as soon as I started to read about the 3, I made the upgrade ....and I won't ever regret it. I was the first to buy my Note 3 at my local T-Mobile the first day it came out and my phone has been running smooth. I gave my Note II to my hubby and he can't keep his hands off of it. He came from a S4, but previous to that had an Iphone 4s...... he complained soo much for that switch wanted to go back to I-phone... I managed to stick him with the Note II (so I can get the 3...he he) and he is in love. He never understood my fascination with "such a big screen phone". I do think the camera on the II is better than the 3, but I'm just trying to snap pictures in a moment in time.....I'm not a professional photographer and if I was I don't think I would take pics on a phone...it would be on a high end camera. And when the 4 comes out, I will get it too.... I'm not even going to lie to myself...

Like I've posted in other threads, I've waited for the Note 3 ever since January and I'm definitely happy with it. I had a Note 2 at one point and I definitely prefer the Note 3.

Ended up resisting here. I'm content to stick with the Note 2 and wait for the Note 4 which I feel will be a more compelling upgrade, in particular screen size (if they stick with the .2 bump each iteration, it should be 5.9" ).

Yes, because there is no way stuff stored on a chip can be clandestinely sent to any database on the planet...no way whatsoever.

I absolutely adore my Note 3. Passed down the Note 2 to my dil. I can charge once a day (while watching my favorite recorded show) and have power all the time! Charges super fast. I have multiple emails and suicidal networking sites as well as notes and memos in use for work all day. Never a lag or stutter. Rooted and froze a few bloat apps and couldn't be happier :-)

There's a rumor that Apple shares their database with NSA. Not sure if that's true or just a satire.

You make me question if my attempt at sarcasm translated without the use of emoticons or the sarcasm tag.

But whether the NSA thing is true or not, my whole point was it is definitely possible to transfer any data anywhere without anyone knowing...big brother and his/her enemies have gotten good at that. Whether it is happening or not is anyone's guess.

That was a mistake. Anyway, the NSA already has all of your information so either way, they can get it if they want.
