Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - Sixaxis pair idea

I've been told to pair a controller with the device we need a USB otg (if you want to pair without pc)

But aren't there cables from Micro usb to mini USB?(male to male) wouldn't that work better than carrying 2 different cables to pair your controller to your phone?
