I recently created a thread asking how can I shoot 4K video with a Note 3. But I think the N9000 (not LTE) doesn't have 4K video recording (?) There is no 4K option, just up to 1080p. Anyone knows about this?

My Verison N900v has the option of video recording at up to 3840 x 2160 in 16:9 format for whatever that is worth.

Right, the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3 uses the qualcomm snapdragon 800 which supports 4k recording

Is it processing power that determines 4k recording, not the photo sensor/cmos thingy, lens and other hardware?

I'm beginning to answer this question to myself.
So many pixels per frame per second.

Do any Octa-core GN3's (Exynos?) handle 4k? I know they have 4 cores running slower than the main quad - cores, whereas Snapdragons run @ 4 x 2.3.

It's the processor that allows for higher res recording, but Exynos might have been able to do it, and chose not to include the option.
And no, I don't think of any of the Exynos variants support it
