Doesn't matter what size. I took yours cropped it even smaller like 566 bytes. When I installed it, the phone bumped it up to 34 kb with a resolution of 1080×1920.
Also I have played with some other pic from my photo gallery. After making it small the phone always bumped it up to anywhere from 34 to 39 kb

Where do you actually see that happening? The image I'm using doesn't appear to have been altered in any way, still show as only being 6 KB in size.

Once you install it to your phone. create a new page without widgets on it then take a picture and look at the details from the gallery or photo.
The original being in your gallery will always shows 6 KB. Just like mine at 566 bytes.

Re: Note 3: Interesting discovery regarding battery drain...
2.2mb here. No widgets but the dock is there. The 2.2 seems to refer only to the shot itself. Doesn't seem to affect my battery life though.

I'm thinking unless I think wrong.
The pic has to cover the entire screen. So probably the screen needs a certain amount of kb to cover it.

Re: Note 3: Interesting discovery regarding battery drain...
I'm thinking that the size represents the actual screenshot, not the size of the wallpaper. I still don't know how to tell how big the wallpaper is, but I'm sure it's pretty large since it's large enough to scroll through 5 screens. It's cropped down about half from the original 3.1mb, so I'm guessing it's about 1.5 mb.
I'm glad it doesn't really affect my phone that much.

Well, if we're talking about the file size of the home page after taking a screenshot of it, then mine is 327 KB. I only use 3 screens but will be condensing to just one very soon.

So, the size DOES refer to the image, not necessarily the size of the actual screenshot itself. Thanks.

Re: Note 3: Interesting discovery regarding battery drain...
When I took my snapshot of one screen I only had one ( home page ) with a few widget and the second one no widget what so ever.
Humm interesting to see the home page for hours without widget.
Today I put a pic from my gallery which is 3.2 mb then charged the phone at 100% and used it as normal. For me only received on call and make 3. After 9.5 hours my phone went down of 14%. I think that's pretty good

Re: Note 3: Interesting discovery regarding battery drain...
Do you have something that looks for WiFi hotspots and turns it on automatically once it finds one, then turns it off when WiFi is no longer present? I think Google + does that...
Are you using any type of timed profile that turns mobile data and WiFi on or off depending on time of day? I do, which is why I ask.
