A nice idea. They must do more. I watched some on my phone after downloading Chrome again.
A virtual travel guide with points of interest. Or Street View +. Some day people will go on a 3d holiday from their home. A virtual night mugging is better than a real one.:)

I was thinking the same. Oculus Rift, but oh well... 😒

Hey! I had to Google that! You should know I don't like to Google. :)
So a VR 3D headset.
If I don't catch something on "The Gadget Show" here on TV, I won't know.
Yes they could do those tours now. At least you could pick your own choice of route every time, it seems.
You are WAY ahead of me on tech stuff. I'm sure you could answer any query on the forums, you just don't want to show off. LOL :)

Google Maps has gone downhill fast. I think maybe Google hired the guy that did Apple Maps a few years ago. I've had Google Maps route me around through a 10 mile radius to get me to a point that was literally 2 miles up the street in a straight shot. The other day I was looking for a grocery store on my commute out of Philly and it gave me a grocery store in Utah (that's 2200 some odd miles away for those not familiar with U.S. Geography). I would consider finding my way from my current location to Google Headquarters so that I could picket their lack of quality, but I'd be afraid where Google Maps would send me......

Seriously, I wonder if it has something to do with Glonass because of tensions with Russia?

I had to raise this again because yesterday according to Google I was in Karachi, Pakistan when I was 5 miles west of Heathrow at a racecourse. That's quite a stretch!!! ?

Has nobody had something similar, apart from an S4 thread (Greenville SC - Albuquerque, New Mexico)?

What is going on with those satellites?

You're getting to travel the world for free!

In all fairness I don't have a problem ...the only one I seem to have is sometimes when I'm getting directions it will think I've gone straight (when really I'm at a stop light) and so it recalculates and then recalculates back to the original directions when I go the direction I was supposed to.

When you find yourself in San Diego come say hello! ;-)

2 things since discovered:

(The other S4 thread suspected AccuWeather, and the widget was also showing me in St Germain en Laye at the time.)

I had uninstalled AccuWeather but the widget app was still there (only 80 kb)
I had installed Chronus Home and Lock Screen widgets, and see now I selected AccuWeather as the weather feed. I have now changed it to feed from Yahoo weather.
I was in Pakistan from the same work spot earlier today for only 5 seconds.

Why Pakistan though?

If it hits San Diego and it turns out to be indicating near you, then I will start to believe there are other forces at play!

I too have random hits from maps/weather.

Sometimes it thinks I never leave home. Monday whilst working at Wimbledon for the tennis (where the 3g/4g is terrible anyway) weather thought I was in the Shetland Islands (although I had been browsing about the shetlands the day before, maybe linked?)

Today I'm in the office just off the M25 in Surrey and my weather is saying I'm in Gloucester..... free travel indeed....

I'm going to Norway and Canada soon so I'll see what results I get then!
