Skype: Difficulty answering calls

I have Skype on my Note 3 and sometimes (well twice in the last three calls) the screen is black and I can not get the phone to switch on so I can answer the call.

It rings ok but I can press any button and nothing. I have to wait until they give up then call them back.

Is this common?

I don't have any issues, but I'd suggest a restart. Far too often, if something is goofy on my Note 3, it works.
