Sprint galaxy note 3 battery drain

I've had my note 3 for about 2-3 months and as soon as I got it I updated to kikat, now my battery is bad, Android system takes up a chunk of it, I wipe the system cache partition many times, I disabled certain apps that might drain it but nothing works,I don't want to do a factory reset, plz help

I've read multiple times that a factory reset may, indeed, improve battery life after the KK update. This has been addressed quite a bit, but have you tried any battery monitoring apps to see why your batt performance is not up to par? I like and use GSam, but there are others.
