While I was able to do this in the past, I seem to no longer be able to insert a voice recording in S Note. If I hit the red record button, it now tells me I am already using the voice recorder in another app. I have cleared the RAM, closed all running programs and even rebooted. Nothing works. I fear it is a setting somewhere but I can't seem to hit on it. 
Additional: I have discovered that the only way I can make it work is to choose Text input vs the pen input. Is this by design? Seems kind of dumb
