My phone is dead. can i remove the sd card safely?

My phone is dead and i cant charge it because the charger port is broken. I got a new phone but i need the sd card from the broken phone. Can i remove the sd safely since the phone is off?

Absolutely, no harm will come of the SD card from removing it with the phone off. Infact, that's preferably the method to inserting/removing the SD card.
