Why won't my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 lock anymore?

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 won't lock anymore.

Note 3 - Android 4.4.4

About 3 days ago I had to change my screens timeout time for just a few short hours. Since I've changed it back I am able to lock it using the lock button for about the first 20 minutes after either changing the lock style or restarting (I HAVE to do either of these for it to successfully lock). After that if I go to lock my phone, the screen goes black like it's suppose to, but there is no lock sound, and if I hit the home button it goes to the home screen without me having to swype. The screen times out at 15 seconds like it's supposed to as well if I am not using it, but only goes black, it never fully locks. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried searching the interwebs for this issue, but can't find anything on it.

I've had the same problem just today. I found that if you change the 'secured lock time' to 'instant' then the lock screen works, but no on the other options. (The sound when pressing the button doesn't seem to work either way).
