On Samsung Galaxy Note 3, open the stock app, My Files.

Then select some file, click Menu button, select Rename from the menu.
In Rename window, there is only main part of file name without extension part.
So that we have no way to rename extension of file name.

Is there any way to rename full name of a file with the stock My Files app?

    Thank you in advance.

Try a 3rd party file manager. I am able to rename file extensions using Total Commander.

Forgive this if I sound arrogant, but this is a top result for what seems to be a fairly common question.. Is there a REASON why stock builds do not provide such simple functionality as renaming extensions??? And if not.. do you know any repo or tree or bug column where this feature could be suggested .. perhaps as a flaw or feature for future development. I would consider the LACK of such functionality in renaming to be a bug, mho. Thanks!
